Quinta do Cardo Caladoc Reserva 2016 Rosé

Vineyard
The vineyards are at an average of 750 meters in the middle of the Iberian plateau, protected by a mountainous topography (Maré and Rodrigo Castle). Soils are granitic in nature with a shale component. The climate, generally continental, presents very long and dry rigorous and vertical winters, where the thermal amplitudes arrive at 20ºC throughout the day. From this combination of factors results the great aromatic exuberance and great freshness.

Winemaking
Made of grapes from the Caladoc grape variety, planting in the vineyard of the Encosta, an experimental plot. As grapes were harvested and selected by hand, transported to a cellar that were pressed whole for 3 hours. Fermentation with controlled temperature, the last third finished in oak barrels and staged for 10 months, with regular batonnage.
