The wine
Produced exclusively from the old vineyards from the Quinta Beira Douro, where the vines located on top of the river Douro and, with northern exposure, provide more elegant, fresh and aromatic more striking and complex wines.

The wine year
The agricultural year 2014 was atypically climatic. The high rainfall values ​​are particularly noteworthy, especially in January, July and September. The values ​​of the average temperature between April and May were above the normal values ​​for the time, which provided an anticipation of the sprouting and a fast vegetative development of the vines. July and August were quite unstable months, with the occurrence of some thunderstorms. August was dry and cool, allowing the smooth evolution of ripeness. A relatively early start of the harvest, with the grapes presenting good maturation rates. It was a very good year ahead. The rains of September did not affect the general quality of the grapes, which gave rise to high quality wines

The grapes are harvested for boxes of 20 kg, transported to the cellar and subject to sorting. With winemaking in traditional winery on foot. The wine masses are transferred by gravity to cement tanks.
