Fernão Pires 2020 White

In timely fashion, Patrícia Santos, a talented oenologist, disciple of Anselmo Mendes and creator of critical acclaimed wines, launched a personal project entitled Rosa da Mata: a homage to her Grandmother. A tremendous start with an abundance of character, as expected from from the Dão Region.
The grapes are harvested manually in 20 kg boxes so that they remain intact and free from oxidation, without tearing the skin until pressing in the cellar. These grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperatures, still in fermentation, a part is placed in new and used 500 liter barrels where the fermentation ends with contact with the fine lees and remains for 14 months until bottling, giving a very light wood touchwithout overpowering the wine. This wine is just filtered.
