Equinócio 2016 (Botticella) White
A field blend of 14 different grape varieties existing in a century-old vineyard located in the parish of Reguengo, in the Serra de S. Mamede Natural Park. The exposure of the vineyard is nascent, at an altitude of 598 meters. Soils of ancient granitic origin (Ordovícico).
Production is very low. We cannot mention the dominance of any variety. The vineyard was planted in the post phylloxera period.
Vinification
The healthy grapes were harvested, crushed and pressed. The resulting wort decanted naturally for 48 hours. Fermentation with natural yeasts took place in 5 used barrels and a new 1,000 liter oak vat. The stage on fine lees lasted until the end of August 2016. The wine in the Botticella 1000 liter vat was bottled on 6 December 2017 without gluing and with light filtration.
