Casal das Aires Chardonnay 2019 White

The time has come for Joana Pinhão to display her interpretation of what an elegant and fresh wine from the Tejo wine region can be. As if closing a circle, she is back to her origins after twelve successful years in the Douro. Joana is from Ribatejo, Alpiarça. In this region, the wine tradition is well rooted and of long memory.

The grapes are harvested by hand, only in the morning to preserve the maximum night-time freshness and preserve the maximum quality. When they arrive at the cellar, they undergo rigorous screening, being subjected to a gentle pressing, followed by total fermentation in 225L barrels. After fermentation, we opted for an aging period of 9 months in contact with the fine lees, but without battonage. Before bottling, the wine is aged for 3 months in stainless steel vats, followed by 4 months in the bottle.
