Casal das Aires Alicante Bouchet 2019 (Magnum) Red

The time has come for Joana Pinhão to display her interpretation of what an elegant and fresh wine from the Tejo wine region can be.
As if closing a circle, she is back to her origins after twelve successful years in the Douro. Joana is from Ribatejo, Alpiarça. In this region, the wine tradition is well rooted and of long memory.
The grapes are harvested by hand, only in the morning to preserve the maximum freshness at night and preserve the maximum quality. When they arrive at the cellar, they are subjected to a rigorous sorting process, being crushed and destemmed, followed by total fermentation in a mill. After the alcoholic fermentation has ended, the malolactic fermentation has already taken place in barrels and an 18-month aging period in used French oak barrels was chosen.
