Beira Douro Touriga Franca / Touriga Nacional 2016 Red

The wine
The Beira Douro is produced from traditional Douro grapes, dominated by the Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, from vineyards located in the Cima Corgo sub-region. It is a wine that favors primary aromas, showing a great balance between freshness, structure and fruit. A wine with great gastronomic aptitude and earlier consumption, although the potential for longevity in the bottle.

The Wine Year
Wine year of 2016 was characterized by a high atypical in terms of climate, hot and rainy winter, cold and rainy spring and, extremely hot and dry summer.
Water reserves benefited the plants in the hot summer months, but the atypical climatic conditions verified, led to stops and delays in the maturations. Despite this, the rains of the first fortnight of October refreshed and hydrated the vineyards.

Viticulture and oenology of minimal intervention, preserving the natural characteristics of the terroir and wine. Manual harvesting for 20kg boxes, fermentation in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature.
